Game Over Stop Motion!
Instead of focusing on films right now, I wanted to discuss another method of forming a video, but in shots. This is called stop motion. Let's begin!
Stop
motion is a way of capturing a moment and then making a moment into video. When
looking at the variety of stop motion there is, I was very shocked by what can
be accomplished in stop motion and due to this it inspired me more than ever to
try and find a great idea on what to create.
This
stop motion is about games being played and then coming to the point of when it
is game over. The style for the stop motion is very retro and old styled. The
games are games the kids would have grown up playing and enjoyed extremely.
This gives the idea that when making a stop motion, a key feature that could be
thought about is the audience. When looking at this stop motion it is seen that
a lot people can enjoy this due to playing the games the person has made. This
then suggests that the target audience is key to establish when designing your
stop motion, as it will help influence your creative motives each capture you
take.
The
colours for this stop motion are very bright and they stand out a lot. This can
be seen as good thing but also bad. This is good due to every part being
interesting, so much is going on in all the sections that it is hard not to be
engaged with the stop motion. However this can also be seen as a bad thing, the
reason for this is because it all seems very busy, the colours are very much in
your face and it is hard to focus on just purely one thing.
However
the idea overall for this stop motion I believe is incredible. The music
matches the games and I can understand what is happening and what game it is
representing. It is very important to make sure that each moment is understood
in a stop motion and I feel like this was certainly accomplished in the game
over stop motion. My particular favourite is the moment where Pacman is introduced;
this is an all time classic game that everyone knows. The music is spot on for
this scene and it is pure genius to even have thought of this idea.
