*WARNING THIS FILM CONTAINS SOME NUDITY*

This film is based in the 1970's, the film involves two guys pairing up in order to investigate the death of a porn star. The singer father Holland March  played by Ryan Gosling is hired by the character Jackson Healy played by Russell Crow to help investigate the supposedly suicide of Misty Mountains. The men see lots of different experiences while on the journey to find out the truth. This includes strippers, mermaids and what can be seen as conspiracy that is made from by the government. I really did enjoy this film in the cinema and wasn't disappointed that I went to watch it at the cinema instead of waiting for the DVD. The film is certainly worth watching, even if it's just once. The humour is very dry, but at times it's hard not to laugh at such silly moments. They story plot at times can be very heart-warming when learning about the character's in more depth. The acting that most stood out for me was the character Holly March played by Angourie Rice. In all honesty, I don't tend to appreciate women actors as much as I should, however I was very impressed by the skills expressed by Angourie Rice. The reason why I did enjoy the character Holly March was because she had a strong iconic personality, that never refused to quit. Holly knew exactly what was needed to be done, even if she is young. The caring side also is shown at times in the film and helps to express realism that a young girl is having to go through this and yet is dealing with things quite well. Without giving too much away, I did really enjoy the story plot to this film and will certainly be a film I will watch again.

Holly March - Really strong character!

This film is highly recommended!
