Double Indemnity (1944)
Rating 6.7/10
Double Indemnity, has key themes of love, crime and money.
This is illustrated by the triangle relationship between the main protagonist
Walter Neff and Phyllis Dietrichson (While Phyllis is married). The triangle relationship is caused by both
the character’s having motivation to get what they want and will do anything to
get that one thing. In this case the motivation for the main protagonist is to
succeed his sexual desires with Phyllis Dietrichson. Due to the lust that the
main protagonist has it becomes his very own weakness. Phyllis Dietrichson
takes full advantage of this when using her sexual nature to get what she wants
completed, without needing to do it herself. Phyllis Dietrichson’s motivation in
this triangle is to get her husband killed and receive the insurance money as a
result of his death. Consequently to this it means that throughout this film
there is a strong motivation for both characters to get what they want and creates excitement to the audience to see how far they will go for something they want so badly.
This film is highly recommended with key moments showing what a person will do to get what they want.

Interesting. Will you do any reviews on more modern films? Such as films released in the last decade?
There are some films mentioned recently in my blog. But yes, I am looking into a film at the moment that is quite interesting.
Cool.
